Job Responsibilities
- Create test cases based on requirements and design specifications to ensure
comprehensive and measurable test coverage - Actively running test cases, identifying defects, and document test results for analysis
and interpretation - Clearly documenting and reporting identified defects, providing necessary details for
developers to understand and address issues - Perform regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not negatively impact
existing functionality - Continuous learning by staying up to date on industry trends, testing tools, and best
practices to enhance skills and contribute to process improvement - Being flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements and priorities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Test moderately complex features of new software releases using predefined test runs.
- Capable of creating and executing test cases, test runs, test plans
- Writes bugs/defects in a manner that results in resolution
- Documenting test results and following through to a resolution
- Working with developers to resolve and debug issues
- Works on regression, black box, smoke, and interface testing
- Identify, isolate, and communicate bugs effectively and efficiently
- Understands software testing and completes job requirements with little supervision
- Proactively identifies problems with requirements (lack of clarity, inconsistencies, technical limitations) for their own work and adjacent work, and communicates these issues early to help course-correct
- Mentors other testers through reviewing their communication and work
- Reports to a team lead
- Other duties may be assigned
Education and Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with additional education or training
- Proficient with computers, google docs, spreadsheets, email, browsers
- Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in technical related field or equivalent work experience
- Capable of creating and executing test cases, and logging bugs into tracking systems
- Experience with electronic hardware testing and effects of software on hardwares
- Basic knowledge of coding versioning and tracking systems
- Understanding of test cases writing and bug tracking systems such as Jira and Testrail
- Proficiency in executing test plans and procedures
- 1-5 years of testing experience or additional training/certification
